About the App

TTAP is an innovative AUv3 delay effect designed for iOS, blending inspiration from analog tape with digital textural effects. Whether you're in search of reliable bread-and-butter delay sounds, subtle enhancements, or evolving experimental echoes, TTAP has you covered.

As an Audio Unit extension, TTAP works seamlessly within compatible AUv3 host apps like Garageband, AUM, Cubasis, and Beatmaker 3. This means you can easily integrate it into your existing setup.

At its core, TTAP features two delay buffers. Each buffer comes with extensive controls that allow you to shape the envelope of the delay sound. You can create glitchy pre-feedback repeats and warm pitch-bends to add depth to your tracks. A special Section control helps you determine the maximum length of time for the second buffer. This control also functions as a virtual LFO control, impacting several modulation parameters for creative sound manipulation.

Both the Delay Time and Section controls can be synced with your DAW or allowed to run free, giving you up to 3.0 seconds of delay for each. You can also experiment by adjusting the speed while TTAP is active, especially with high feedback settings. This creates the expanding and contracting doppler sound effect that many dub lovers appreciate. Additionally, you can automate and randomize effects using the Bend control for even more versatility.

One useful feature in TTAP is "In The Fade." This allows for easy fading between the two delay buffers or the option to use one buffer at a time with just a click, enhancing your workflow.

TTAP also includes a "Glitch and Chance" feature. Beyond the usual feedback control, this offers randomized repeats that sync with the Section time for a glitchier sound. Each buffer further features a dedicated reverse switch, adding even more creative options to your delay effects.

The intuitive display in TTAP shows crucial information such as the mix between buffers, the amount of feedback, the time gap between them, and the envelope for each buffer. This visual feedback helps you understand how your adjustments affect the sound.

TTAP encourages musical applications by allowing you to rely on your ears. Instead of having individual readouts for controls, it uses symbols to guide your adjustments. If you prefer precise values, you can easily see and edit any parameter by clicking on it and checking the upper-right corner.

By default, TTAP uses graphical icons for its labels, but you can switch to text labels if you prefer by clicking the symbols/text label switch in the lower-right corner.

With TTAP, you have a powerful tool for achieving a wide range of delay effects. It combines traditional analog tape inspiration with the possibilities of digital sound design, making it perfect for musicians and producers looking to explore new sonic textures.
