Continuing this legacy, Yonac introduces Magellan Synthesizer 2, a blend of bright sounds, exciting features, and user-friendliness, all while keeping the unique spirit of the original.

Magellan Synthesizer 2 showcases cutting-edge synthesis technology. Users will enjoy punchy tones and warm filters, enhanced by greater modulation options, AUv3 support, and MPE integration. New presets invite exploration of a fresh musical landscape.

At the heart of Magellan are its three real-time virtual-analog oscillators. The first two oscillators connect to a Timbre module, helping create many different waveforms. With the Oscillator Unison feature, users can activate additional “secret” oscillators to unleash up to 24 oscillators per voice. This is ideal for creating powerful supersaws or achieving true chorus and flange effects right at the synthesis stage. Plus, the configurable Maximizer can boost sounds even more, enabling up to 120 oscillators per voice.

Magellan includes a powerful FM module that adds depth to its unique hybrid design. It features its own ADSR generators and a variable contour generator with three different envelope shapes. This module acts as an additional sound source, transforming Magellan 2 into a capable frequency modulation synthesizer. When used in conjunction with other oscillators and modulation features, it allows users to create rich, multi-layered textures that can’t be achieved using subtractive synthesis alone.

The synthesizer boasts two independent filter banks with 11 different filters. These filters can be set in series or parallel and come with a variable balance option. Each filter also features dedicated ADSRs with long maximum settings, offering different playing characteristics.

Magellan's powerful modulation system is supported by dual LFOs and a modulation envelope, allowing for real-time modulation of up to 16 simultaneous targets and each with its own adjustable amount. Users can assign secondary controls via MIDI to vary the modulation dynamically. The built-in XY-pad allows access to any pair of 140 parameters for real-time control, while the EZ Velocity control module helps quickly adjust touch sensitivity for amplitude, filters, and FM.

The second generation Yonac SPAWN brings AI-powered features, creating countless original presets effortlessly. With three different algorithms and configurable machine autonomy down to module level, users can easily produce anything from subtle variations to completely new sounds with a high hit rate—all with just a touch of a button.

Magellan Synthesizer 2 supports MIDI compatibility, allowing users to run multiple instances in their favorite AUv3 DAW or Mixer. It offers a comprehensive MIDI I/O with MIDI learn functionality, making it simple to recall settings and program changes. MPE integration brings full polyphonic pitch control, while aftertouch and CC74 can be assigned through the modulation matrices. The new MagTOUCH MPE controller allows for voice-wise expression, not just within Magellan but also with other MPE apps and devices in compatible DAWs.

Additional features include an analog-inspired step/pattern sequencer with gate, velocity, and skip options. The ChordMaker allows users to map one key into a chord easily. The powerful arpeggiator has live and program modes, making it fun to play. A versatile FX rack features 10 stereo FX units with configurable signal flow. With over 360 factory presets, including a special bank produced by Sunsine Audio, Magellan 2 offers an extensive range of sounds. Other features, like Ableton Link compatibility, YPAT3 preset management, a custom patch translator, and an app recorder, round out this impressive synthesizer.
