About the App
MagicDeathEye is an innovative emulation of a high-end tube compressor. It comes in both AUv3 format and interapp audio format, making it versatile for different audio setups. Created in collaboration with DDMF, this extraordinary compressor is designed to deliver rich sound quality. It’s user-friendly and visually appealing, making it a favorite for anyone who mixes audio.
Whether you’re working on vocals, bass, keys, or practically any other instrument, the MagicDeathEye compressor excels at enhancing them. It uses a gentle compression curve that is also suitable for master buss duties, allowing you to apply effective compression without losing the essence of your mix. With a broad range of sidechain timings, it adapts well to various mixing needs.
The input level control lets you manage how much signal enters the compressor, which includes intelligently modeled input transformer, tubes, and output transformer. You can easily set the threshold control to determine the amount of compression applied to your signal. The compression amount varies based on the input signal, giving you flexibility in how much effect is added.
One of the handy features is the output adjust, which provides a fader with a range from +5dB to -20dB. This feature acts as a master volume for the audio coming out of the compressor, unlike the original hardware unit that only offered a 3dB adjustment.
The time knob allows for precise control over the attack and release settings of the compression. With positions ranging from "1" for fast attack and release to "4" for the slowest, it is easy to tailor the response of the compressor. You can also use the D1 and D2 settings, which provide a fast attack with dual release options that span from medium to slow.
The attack switch adjusts all time settings with three responses: overall fast, medium, or slow. The 150Hz filter switch plays a crucial role in controlling low frequency material. When activated, it reduces frequencies below 150Hz from entering the sidechain. This is beneficial when you want to prevent elements like kick drum compression from affecting the rest of your mix, aiding in gentle compression across all elements.
True to its hardware roots, the MagicDeathEye features a hard bypass function with the power switch. This means you can easily toggle the processing on and off, ensuring you can listen to the signal without any compression applied.
With MagicDeathEye, you have a powerful mixing tool at your fingertips. Its intelligent design combines effective signal processing with a pleasing user interface, making it easy to adjust compression settings and get the results you desire.
