In Tower & Mercenaries: Guild RPG, you lead a mercenary company through a vast and exciting world. Your mission is to climb a massive tower filled with challenges. As you navigate this tower, you'll explore a ruined kingdom, misty bamboo forests, and an empire of steel and gunpowder. Your ultimate goal is to face the ancient dragon on floor 50. Defeating this dragon marks the end of the first chapter. Afterward, you will enter the Abyss from floor 51, continuing your adventure all the way to the top, where you'll reach floor 999.

This game combines elements of a mercenary management sim and an auto-battle strategy RPG. The battles in Tower & Mercenaries play out automatically, allowing you to strategically decide which mercenaries to bring and how to place them for maximum impact.

When it comes to recruiting mercenaries, you'll have options from six races and ten classes. Your task is to judge their potential and assign training, rest, and wages thoughtfully. Factors like age and fatigue, as well as morale management, shape your mercenary company's strength. Before each expedition, gear distribution and facility upgrades are essential to prepare your team. The higher you climb, the better the applicants who come to join you.

Setting up the formation in battle is crucial. You can choose to place up to five mercenaries in the front and back rows, or six once you earn the right perk. Your formation strategy will determine the outcome of fights; selecting who holds the front, who provides healing, and who targets the enemy's back row is vital. The battle forecast aids you by providing insights into weak spots, while each floor's mutations require different party setups and relics to succeed.

During your journey, you will encounter fourteen named heroes, each contributing their unique skills and stories. Keep in mind that ordinary mercenaries can split into three skills per class, meaning two mercenaries of the same class may perform differently based on their chosen path.

As you progress into the Abyss and confront the end of growth, you will be able to awaken members through the Abyss Rite, raising their potential. If you ever change your mind about a member’s path, there is a purification process available. Members who reach the SS ranking can attempt personal trials to achieve SS+ potential, including new recruits.

Your company has a rich history. Companions grow, age, and even retire or fall within the tower. The Corridor of Rebirth offers a chance to call back departed mercenaries to join your quest once more. Inside the tower, you may also meet rival companies to trade with or engage in battles. The chronicle and codex will keep track of every story in your mercenary company’s journey.

You can always keep an eye on your next goals within the base. The "next unlock" feature lists upcoming named heroes, story chapters, and trials in order of the floors. You’ll find many goals beyond just climbing, such as engaging in material dungeons, participating in weekly raids, and taking on Abyss contracts.
