About the App
BLEASS Dragonfly offers a fresh take on the tremolo effect, bringing exciting new sonic possibilities to music producers. This app allows you to make your synths, voices, or any melody “vibrate” in sync with their own frequencies or with other track elements like basses and leads. You can achieve sounds similar to Billie Eilish’s song “Xanny,” where the voice is beautifully modulated by a heavy bass.
The BLEASS Dragonfly automatically syncs the tremolo effect on any track using various triggers. You can use the pitch tracking module in two ways: the input audio track, known as “self mode,” or a sidechained audio track, referred to as “sidechain mode.” With MIDI input triggering, you can also sync the tremolo with extreme accuracy to the frequencies of the notes played. If you prefer, there’s a manual mode to set a fixed frequency.
Fine-tuning your sound is easy with BLEASS Dragonfly. You can adjust settings such as the fine, factor, smoothness, stereo control, attack, and release. For creative sound shaping, the app features a “Wild” mode that applies complex waveshaping for warm saturated effects. The dynamic nature of the tremolo effect is visually represented by the animated wings of a dragonfly, which flap in rhythm with the effect.
BLEASS Dragonfly is compatible with both Mac and Windows systems, and it supports AU and VST3 formats, making it a versatile tool for any music production setup. In addition to the intuitive interface, users can control amplitude with adjustable tremolo amplitude settings. You can also manage your input gain easily, ensuring your audio level fits your mix perfectly.
In source mode, the app offers options for manual adjustment of tremolo rate and amplitude. In MIDI mode, the tremolo rate is linked to the lowest MIDI note received, while its amplitude corresponds to the MIDI note velocity. Self mode provides pitch tracking for the input signal to determine the tremolo rate, while sidechain mode does the same but for a sidechain signal. This self and sidechain analysis gives you incredible flexibility in manipulating audio signal modulation.
When preparing your mix, you can quickly adjust the dry/wet balance to get the right mix of processed and unprocessed sound. Plus, the visualisation with animation helps you see real-time feedback, with indicators for both the input and the applied MIDI note rate.
Overall, BLEASS Dragonfly is an effective tool for musical production, enabling synth and vocal modulation with ease. The subtle saturation effects produced by the app add depth and character to your sound, unlocking a world of creative opportunities. Whether you’re an experienced producer or just starting, BLEASS Dragonfly helps you explore new dimensions in your audio projects.
