Pure Acid is a powerful bassline synthesizer and drum machine combined into one app. It draws inspiration from classic hardware equipment that changed music in the 1980s, like the legendary TB-303 synthesizer and the TR-808 rhythm box. With Pure Acid, you can enjoy the feeling of retro analog gear while exploring new features that these original devices didn’t offer. The app is designed to make your music creation process fast and enjoyable.

You will find a large selection of factory preset patterns that help you dive into the exciting worlds of Acid House music, Techno music, Hardcore, and Big Beat genres. These patterns can inspire you to craft your own unique basslines and rhythms for your music.

Using Pure Acid, you can treat it as a real-time musical instrument, often referred to as a groove box. It works well in jam sessions, especially with Ableton Link integration, allowing you to sync it easily with other music gear. The bassline editing system and randomization options simplify creating unique and catchy basslines. Plus, the live performance effects with XY-pad controls provide extra expression during your sessions. You can also pair Pure Acid with AudioBus, AUM, or other Inter-App Audio-supporting apps to build complex and interesting sound setups.

The app supports several modern audio features. You can use AUv3 support and Bluetooth Midi support, and it has a 64-bit sound engine that ensures high-quality audio. You can even perform midi file export, making it easier to share your creations. The app includes a multiple output AUv3 plugin with six audio output busses, which gives you flexibility in managing your sound.

In the bassline section, Pure Acid lets you choose from two classic bassline waveforms: Saw and Pulse. You’ll find traditional knobs that control parameters like Tune, Cutoff, Resonance, Env Mod, Decay, and Accent. There are also distortion effect parameters, as well as filter LFO control, which adds more depth to your sound.

Moving to the sequencer, you can store up to 12 bassline patterns in one preset, with each pattern allowing up to 32 steps. This feature encourages drum pattern chaining, which helps in creating more complex rhythms. You can adjust the bass note lengths through the Gate parameter, and the pattern editor functionality allows you to copy, transpose, and even randomize notes for creativity.

The drums section is equally impressive, featuring 16 independent drum parts. You can explore 35 classic drum sounds and customize your own drum kit. Each drum sound comes with its parameters, such as Tune, Decay, and Attack, giving you comprehensive control over your sounds. You can organize up to 12 drum patterns and four drum fill patterns per preset, with the ability to create up to 32 steps in total per drum pattern. The app also includes features like Swing and Flam that further enhance your patterns. You can highlight specific steps in your drum pattern using a Total Accent part. Additionally, there are new drum step conditions that add further versatility to your beats.

The mixer section features two channels dedicated for Bassline and Drums. Each channel has a Drive effect and offers two send effect pedals, namely FX A and FX B. You have access to 14 different FX send effects, each of which can be routed creatively, allowing you to chain multiple effects together. The Master Limiter effect helps prevent any sound clipping, ensuring clean output.

Pure Acid supports unlimited user presets, along with 84 factory presets to get you started. You can audio export to wav files in various bit depths, and the preset bank sharing feature makes it easy to share your sounds with others. The app also offers adjustable UI color schemes, so you can personalize your workspace. It works seamlessly as either a standalone app or as an AUv3 audio unit plugin, making it versatile for both iPad and iPhone users.

With Pure Acid, you not only get a powerful music creation tool, but also access to extensive sound customization options, making it a fantastic addition to your music production toolkit.
