ANALOGy8 is an AUv3 virtual instrument plugin that offers a powerful synthesizing experience. You can use it as a standalone app or inside any AUv3-compatible host like Logic Pro, GarageBand, or AUM. Just keep in mind that the standalone version needs you to connect a suitable MIDI device to play the synth, as it does not come with a built-in keyboard.

As an 8 voice polyphonic synthesizer, ANALOGy8 provides lots of creative possibilities. Each voice uses variable shape oscillators, which have the unique feature of wave folding synthesis. There are three of these oscillators per voice, along with a noise source. Additionally, you can control sound with independent amplitude envelopes and velocity-sensitive oscillators, allowing for a more expressive performance.

The filtering stage in ANALOGy8 features two independent variable mode filters per voice. These filters offer variations of lowpass, bandpass, and highpass, with both two and four pole options. You can add drive for saturation effects, and filter cutoff modulation can be done with velocity for added flexibility. Each filter has its own ADSR envelope, giving you further control over your sound design.

ANALOGy8 stands out with its four independent modulation sources per voice. Each source includes a variable shape LFO—low-frequency oscillator—which comes with its own ASR envelope modulation. You can sync the LFOs to the host tempo for precise rhythms or allow them to drift in an "analog-ee" way for more organic sounds. If desired, you can even switch off the LFOs, turning the modulation source into a simple ASR envelope.

The modulation capabilities of ANALOGy8 are quite extensive. You can assign modulation sources to 22 voice parameters, with one mod source assigned for each parameter. For example, you might route mod source 3 to control the pitch of oscillator 2 while also adjusting the cutoff of filter 1. Because modulation occurs independently for each voice, this flexibility allows for evolving sound textures that feel unique and sometimes unpredictable.

In addition to its synthesizing features, ANALOGy8 includes an effects section that offers an analog-flavoured delay effect, which can sync to the host tempo. There’s also an "octave grains" effect for adding depth to your sounds. To further enhance your experience, you have access to a lush stereo phaser, variable size reverb, and a compressor limiter stage with an optional clipper effect.

For those who want to start quickly, ANALOGy8 comes with 100 factory presets. It also has a generate user presets feature, allowing you to create your own unique sounds efficiently.
