The story begins with Kayah, who is slowly healing from the loss of her partner. One night, the Gravehart family, a powerful and wealthy clan, raids her village. During their escape, they come across a winged woman who is chained up and unconscious. After rescuing Helen and nursing her back to health, they learn that she has a purpose she can't quite remember.

As Kayah feels a deep connection and friendship bonds develop between them, she pledges to protect Helen while they flee from the Gravehart family.
