Flux - Liquid Audio is a powerful real-time effects processor that works as an AUv3 plugin in your favorite Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), such as Cubasis and NanoStudio. This versatile plugin lets you create and manage multiple audio effects through pattern sequencing, making it easy to enhance your music with remarkable control.

With Flux, you can design patterns that contain different triggered effects that play on beat boundaries. This means you can create looped patterns or even chain various song patterns together seamlessly. For example, if you want to add vocal delay effects to just one phrase rather than applying it to the whole vocal track, Flux makes this easy. You can also introduce varying harmonies or create gated stutter effects on selected parts of your mix.

Each pattern can range from 16 to 64 beats in length and operate at either standard or fast speeds. The fast speed is particularly useful for generating gate-type effects. Additionally, you can create up to 24 automated pattern sequences that align perfectly with the beat position in your host DAW.

Adding effects in Flux is done using nodes placed on a timeline over designated beats. Each node offers unique settings, allowing for detailed modulation speed control and other adjustments. You can utilize node divisions to manage elements like the number of repeats or delay time, all of which sync nicely with the beat.

Flux includes 11 audio effects that can be layered together. These effects are Filter, Repeat, Gate, Pan, Delay, Pitch, Tape Stop, Reverb, Bit Cruncher, Reverse, and Flanger. Each effect, when used with proper settings, can bring a unique flavor to your sound without overwhelming the CPU, thanks to its low CPU usage design.

The filter effect in Flux features LP, HP, BandPass, and Notch filters. These filters allow you to define crucial parameters like cutoff and resonance, with options for modulation to generate random values. The Repeat effect is designed specifically for beat-synced sources, making it ideal for drum machine synchronization and the use of sub-beats at varying lengths.

With the Gate effect, you can carve out dynamic spaces in your audio, allowing for stutter patterns and fades with customizable attack and release controls. The Pan effect enables automated panning at different speeds, giving you the flexibility to mix various panning styles over each step of the pattern.

Delay effects can be set to sync with your beats, enabling cascading echoes that enrich your mix. The Pitch effect allows for independent pitch shifting up to +/- 12 semitones. In 'harmony mode', you can add rich vocal harmonies at specific moments, while 'glide mode' helps transition between pitches smoothly.

The Tape Stop effect simulates the unique sounds of a tape recorder stopping or starting, while also providing interesting scratch and warble effects. If you’re looking to add grit to your audio, the Bit Cruncher effect achieves that by downsampling specific drum hits.

The Flanger effect is versatile, producing everything from gentle chorus sounds to intense flanging that can be re-triggered or allowed to run free. On top of that, the reverse audio technique allows you to create shadow notes, perfect for adding depth to drum patterns. Lastly, the Reverb effect opens up the possibility of dynamic gate reverb techniques, enabling interesting trails and ambient additions to your music.
